Description
Zirconia Mortars and Pestles, made of ZrO2, are widely used in laboratories for grinding tough ceramics and materials that are too hard for agate, alumina, and porcelain. They are known for their high wear resistance, low contamination, and anti-corrosion properties, making them suitable for high-temperature applications. These zirconia mortar and pestle sets are commonly used in various industries such as chemical and pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, automotive, and chemical manufacturing.
Additionally, Zirconia Crucibles are available and known for their refractory and insulating properties, with a clean melt at temperatures above 1,900°C.

Applications
Zirconia Mortar and Pestle are widely recognized for their exceptional properties, making them a preferred choice for various applications. Here are some of the critical applications and properties of zirconia:
- 1.Hardness and Grinding Capabilities: Zirconia's superior hardness enables it to effectively grind tough ceramics such as aluminum oxide and silicon oxide, making it an ideal material for use in mortar and pestle sets for laboratory applications.
- 2.Low Contamination and Acid Resistance: Zirconia is highly resistant to contamination, making it suitable for ultra-pure organic, nanomaterial, and forensic applications. Additionally, its inertness to hydrofluoric acid (HF) and other acids makes it superior to alternative materials such as agate.
- 3.High-Temperature Applications: Zirconia exhibits excellent physical and thermal shock resistance, making it well-suited for high-temperature applications. Its high thermal resistivity and resistance to cracking contribute to its use in high-heat environments, including as a component in crucibles and furnaces.
- 4.Wear Resistance and Toughness: Zirconia ceramics are known for their exceptional wear resistance, hardness, and toughness, making them suitable for applications that require high strength and durability, such as in metalworking, machining, and the production of high-wear components.
